Paper Coupons

How do I redeem paper coupons?

  • For in-store shopping, the physical paper coupon must be presented by the customer and retained by the cashier. Example: A cashier cannot accept a coupon presented on a customer’s personal device from an App (like Snip Snap).
  • For online orders, to submit your coupons for verification, place them in a sealed envelope with your name or order number and give them to your Giant Delivers or Giant Pickup Representative when you receive your groceries

  • What is your coupon policy?

    • To ensure product availability for all customers, we reserve the right to limit individual coupon quantities.
    • The value of the coupon will not be redeemed for more than the price of the item. Coupons have no cash value.
    • Coupons must have a clear and visible expiration date and must not be expired.
    • Giant does not accept altered or tampered with coupons (e.g., expiration date cut off, coupons that are damaged), or photocopies or reproductions of coupons.
    • Only one Basket Offer (e.g., coupons that offer a specific value off the end of the order) accepted per order.
    • Unless a special store promotion is being run, we do not accept coupons for gift cards.
    • When using SNAP (food stamps) as payment, coupons will reduce the SNAP total due when redeemed toward the purchase of eligible food.
    • On manufacturer’s coupons, sales tax will be applied to the total before the coupon is redeemed. The customer is responsible for the sales tax, where required by law.
         

    What is your policy for redeeming manufacturers' coupons?

    Our policy for redeeming manufacturers’ coupon is as follows:

    • Coupons cannot be redeemed after the expiration date stated on the coupon. The total redemption value of the coupon may not exceed the retail value of the item purchased.
    • Act Media coupons cannot be doubled or tripled.
    • Product-specific Checkout Coupons cannot be doubled or tripled.
    • Product-specific Checkout Coupons cannot be used with any other manufacturers’ coupons for the same item.
    • Non-product specific store Checkout Coupons can be used with another manufacturers’ coupon. For example: a customer may use a coupon for "50¢ off any Produce item" and a manufacturer’s coupon on the same item.
    • Our stores accept all manufacturer coupons. Exception are any items excluded by state regulations.
    • The exact item stated on the coupon must be purchased in order to redeem the coupon.
    • Item substitutions are not allowed.
    • Printed manufacturer coupons may be redeemed on damaged or discontinued merchandise that has been reduced. Digital Coupons are excluded.
    • Only one (1) manufacturer coupon may be used on each individual item purchased.
    • Manufacturer coupons cannot be used in combination with Digital Coupons.
    • The maximum number of identical coupons allowed for each identical item is four (4), unless otherwise stated on the coupon.
    • Any coupons for free products will be honored for the value of the item only. Free coupons cannot be doubled or tripled. (Excludes internet coupons)
    • On manufacturer’s coupons, sales tax will be applied to the total before the coupon is redeemed. The customer is responsible for the sales tax, where required by law.

    What is the double/triple coupon policy?

    We double the savings marked on manufacturers’ cents-off coupons up to 99¢. Any coupon valued at $1 or over will be redeemed at face value of the item purchased. In cases where the double coupon total exceeds the value of the item, the offer is limited to the retail price. Lottery tickets, cigarettes, tax and items prohibited by law are excluded. You may double a maximum of four (4) identical manufacturers’ coupons. For example: If a customer purchased five boxes of Cheerios and presented five (5) manufacturers’ coupons for 50 cents, the first four coupons would be doubled to $1. The fifth coupon will no longer be accepted. Again, the maximum is four (4).

     

    Do you accept internet coupons?

    We do accept internet coupons, including those for a free item, with the following exceptions:

     
    • Coupon value cannot exceed $5.
    • If we are notified of fraudulent activity involving specific internet coupons.
    • Expiration date must be clear and visible.
    • Expired coupons are not accepted.
    • Coupon must be printed legibly and must be scannable.
    • Coupon must have a valid remit address for the manufacturer.
    • Photocopied, altered, duplicated or reproduced coupons are not accepted.
    • Invalid coupons or coupons received after 30 days will not be accepted or returned.

    Internet coupons may be doubled provided they meet all doubling requirements and are not specifically prohibited by the manufacturer.

     

    Can I redeem coupons on my gift card purchase?

    Giant does not accept coupons of any type for the purchase of gift cards.

     

    What is your policy on store coupons?

    A paper store coupon and a manufacturer coupon may be redeemed on the same item. If the combined value for the coupons used exceeds the price of the item, the item is free. The manufacturer’s coupon will be deducted first, and then the store coupon will be adjusted so that it does not exceed the price of the item. Store coupons cannot be doubled or tripled

     

    What is your policy for Free item and Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) manufacturer coupons?

    Paper coupons issued by a manufacturer and offering a free item may be combined with store instant BOGO offers. Example: 1st item scanned (paper manufacturer “free” coupon applied), 2nd item scanned (store BOGO applied). Both items will be free to the customer.

    Paper BOGO coupons may be combined with store instant BOGO offers. Example: 1st item scanned (paper manufacturer BOGO applied), 2nd item scanned (store BOGO applied). Both items will be free to the customer.

    To ensure product availability for all customers, we reserve the right to limit individual coupon redemption quantities.

    Giant reserves the right to refuse any suspect manufacturer or internet printed coupons and limit quantities. You are responsible for repayment of any counterfeit coupons submitted

     

    What is your policy for Catalina Coupons?

       
    • Our stores issue both manufacturer and store coupons from the Catalina printers at the time of checkout. Our stores accept competitor-issued manufacturer Catalina coupons. Competitor-issued Catalina coupons must specifically be identified as “manufacturer coupon” to be accepted.
    • Catalina coupons cannot be doubled or tripled
    • Item-specific manufacturer Catalina coupons cannot be used in conjunction with other manufacturer coupons for the same item.
    • Non-product specific manufacturer Catalina coupons may be used in conjunction with manufacturer coupons. Example: $1.00 off Produce coupon.
    • Only one Basket Offer (e.g., coupons that offer a specific value off the end of the order) accepted per order.
