Meet our leadership team
Ira Kress, President
Beginning his retail career nearly 40 years ago, Ira brings an impressive repertoire of experience, including leadership roles across Store Operations and Human Resources. Ira was appointed President May 24, 2019, and has since confidently led our 20,000+ associates and 165 stores across Delaware, Maryland, DC and Virginia. His leadership extends beyond Giant; Ira also serves as a board member on the Capital Area Food Bank, the USO Mid-Atlantic and Ahold-Delhaize USA Family Foundation.
Diane Hicks, SVP, Operations
Diane has 32 years’ experience with the broader company. Her experience ranges from various management roles from store-level to corporate, demonstrating leadership in every position she’s held.
Tony Matala, VP, Finance
Tony Matala currently serves as Vice President, Chief Financial Officer for Giant Food located in Landover Maryland. He has been in this role since 2014.
Gregg Dorazio, VP Marketing
Gregg ‘s marketing background includes significant time in consumer packaged goods. His 25-year, multi-faceted career also includes roles in engineering, eCommerce and strategy.
Joe Urban, VP, Distribution
Joe Urban currently serves as Vice President of Supply Chain Operations for Giant Food. In this role, he has successfully led many operations.
Rick Manzi, VP, Merchandising
Rick brings robust experience in the Fresh category and an impressive 36+ years in the retail space. Outside of his current role, he also serves as the Executive Sponsor for our Young Professionals Business Resource Group.
Tonya Douglas, Chief Merchant
Tonya brings over 30 years of grocery industry experience, serving in various leadership roles over the years. She is currently on the Next Up Board, and recently served on the USO Metro Board of Directors.
Caron Sanders, VP, Human Resources
Caron is an international HR leader with over 15 years of experience in retail. She has a passion for building a thriving culture for all associates, by inspiring growth and collaboration.
